Senoir Pastor
Senior Pastor
Dr. Kenneth Culver

Ken was born and raised in Fayette County, Tennessee. He went to grammar school in Oakland and then graduated from Fayette County High School in 1969. Ken followed in
his father's footsteps by beginning a career as an electrician. After working in Memphis for several years, he and his father started Culver Electric Company in 1977.

After a series of events that caused Ken to begin to search for meaning in life, he started attending Shady Grove Baptist Church in Somerville, Tennessee. It was there, on April 18, 1976, that he came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. On
March 17, 1977 he surrendered his life to God's call to preach the gospel. In August
of 1979, Ken began attending Mid-South Bible College where he graduated with a B.A. in Pastoral Ministries in 1984. He enrolled in the fall of 1984 in the Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary, where he earned the Master of Divinity degree in 1990. He then
enrolled in the fall of 1990 in Luther Rice Theological Seminary where he earned the
Doctor of Ministry degree, graduating in 1996.

During this time of education and training Ken served five churches. His first pastorate was Mount Olive Baptist Church in Somerville, Tennessee. Then he became pastor at First Baptist Church of Oakland, Tennessee. His next staff position was as Associate Pastor of Rossville Baptist Church in Rossville, Tennessee. He left there to pastor the Midway Baptist Church in Whiteville, Tennessee. After leaving Midway he went to Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsville, Tennessee.

In 1997, Ken began to feel God's leading to start a new contemporary style church.   He attended a Purpose Driven Church Conference in Nashville, Tennessee led by Rick Warren.
Rick is the pastor of Saddleback Community Church in southern California. After the conference, Ken began to pray about some of the principles he learned and for the Lord's leading. In May of 1999 he resigned as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church and moved to the community of Somerville, Tennessee. He and his wife Jan started a Bible study in their home on August 10, 1999. This group grew and began to plan to have their first worship service. The first service was Easter, April 23, 2000 located in the cafeteria of Fayette Academy, a private school in Somerville, Tennessee.  On August 10, 2002, Warren Community Church opened their doors in their new church home located at 11800 Hwy. 64, Somerville, Tennessee.

Ken loves the Purpose Driven Concepts because they emphasize building people and not programs. Warren Community Church values as a top priority the building of people's lives
in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ken's wife, Jan, is the joy of his life and she supports the ministry by being personally
involved in the music, children's and women’s ministries. They have four children and eleven grandchildren.
